This morning, I did a project for Sara. With every Aerials catalog, some of the overstock fabric is made into very basic tank leos and sold super cheap (value tanks!). I got to do the paperwork for the Holiday 2011 value tanks. Sara gave me a handful of swatches and then I had to draw up a layout in Illustrator (using the tank flat), go into the raw materials drive, find the correct swatches, drop them into the tank, decide if they would get a white or black logo and type it all up on my document. I also did another little project for her - utilizing my excellent xacto skills. It has to do with the cover of the upcoming Curtain Call catalog so it's a secret, but basically I made a template for something :) In the afternoon, Ashley, Maurya and I watched the video of the 2010 Dance Teacher Summit Fashion Forward show and then we gave Sara suggestions for what costumes Curtain Call will send next year - first year they are participating! It's basically a runway show with dance attire and dancer models.

When we got to work, Sara had left us a list of things to gather for the Fashion Forward show - everything has to be shipped on Monday and Sara is out today and tomorrow. Bev from the sample room brought us the garments that Sara had selected, along with tights and some accessories. First, we had to go upstairs to Marketing and talk to Donna and Marissa about how to label them and where to get the photos from. Next, we went to the warehouse and found garment bags. Ashley set to work on typing up labels while Maurya and I checked to make sure each garment had the correct tights and accessories and bagged them. A couple of times we had to get them to pull another accessory from stock or go on a hunt through the building to find a certain flower pin! During our searches Maurya and I had an adventure in the stage setup storage that involved some shoes that were older then we were - and a mountain of dust! :-) After lunch, we worked on a project for Carol. Carol is the Senior Buyer and is in charge of all the accessories that we use. Translation - her office was filled with boxes of accessories. We pulled everything out and basically took over the design room. Back to the warehouse for more boxes and we were set! First we sorted things into general caregories, then we went through and sorted them by "old" and "current", using the new accessories layout for referance. Current each got labeled with masking tape and the style number and put into labeled boxes. It was basically like playing dress up for three hours - Carol kept coming out of her office and finding us wearing headbands, wigs, sparkly belts, etc. Carol had some more stuff for us to work on in the afternoon - making some copies and doing some paperwork and tomorrow we are going to make a display board of all the current accessories.
